Our Core Beliefs
-
We believe that the Holy Bible as originally written was verbally inspire and therefore, absolutely free from any error. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21)
-
We believe there is only one living and true God, manifested in three equal persons, The Father, The Son, and the Holy Ghost, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinction but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. (Ex. 20:2-3; I Cor. 8:6; Rev. 4:11; I John 5:7)
-
We believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit; that HE is active in the work of creation and redemption; that He is the agent of the new birth; that He seals, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, and helps the believer. (Gen. 1:1-3; John 3:5-6; John 14:16-17; John 16:8-11; Romans 8:14, 16, 26-27; Eph. 1:13-14)
-
We believe in the personality of Satan, that he is the unholy god of this age, and is destined to the judgement of the Lake of Fire. (Matt. 4:1-3; II Cor. 4:4; Rev. 20:10)
-
We accept the Genesis account of creation and believe that man came by direct creation of God and NOT through evolution. (Gen. chapter 1&2; Col. 1:16-17; John 1:1)
-
We believe that man was created in innocence, but by voluntary transgression fell in consequence of which ALL mankind are now sinners. (Gen. 3:1-6; Romans 6:10-19; Romans 3:12,23)
-
We believe that Jesus was begotten of the Holy Ghost in a miraculous manner, born of the virgin Mary, and truly God and truly man. (Gen. 3:15; Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:18-25; John 1:14)
- We believe in the Atonement of Sin through the sacrificial and mediatorial work of the Son of God upon the cross of Calvary; that He took the sinners' place; the just dying for the unjust. (Eph. 2:8; Romans 3:24; I Cor. 15:3,4; II Cor. 5:21; Isa. 53)
- We believe that in order to be saved, sinners must be born again: that the new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus; that in the new birth a person becomes the partaker of the divine nature and receives Eternal Life, the Free Gift of God. (John 3:3-8; II Corn. 5:17; Acts 16:30-33; II Peter 1:4)
- We believe that God secures to such as believe in Christ the blessing of justification, entirely apart from the consideration of any works of righteousness which we have done; that His righteousness is imputed to us solely on the basis of faith in the redeemer's blood. (Acts 13:39; Romans 5:1,9; Romans 8:1)
- We believe that faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only condition of Salvation. (Acts 16:31)
- We believe that a local church is a congregation of immersed believers associated by covenant of faith and fellowship of the Gospel; observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; and exercising and gifts, rights and privileges invested in them by His Word; that its only scriptural officers are pastors and Deacons; that its mission is the faithful witnessing of Christ to all men as we have opportunity. We hold that the local church has the absolute right of self government of discipline, of benevolence on all matters of membership, of co-operation, of polity and government, this will of the local church is final. (Acts 2:41-42; Acts 20:17-28; I Cor. 11:2; Acts 15; 13-18)
- We believe that Christian Baptisim is the imersion of a believer in water to show forth our faith in the crucified, buried and risen daviour. We believe that the Lord's supper is the commemoration of His death unitl He comes, to be preceded by self-examination. (Acts 8:26-29; Romans 6:3-5; I Cor. 11:23-34)
- We believe that all who are truly born again are kept by God the Father for Jesus Christ. (Phil. 1:6; John 10:29; Romans 8:35-39)
- We believe that civil government is of divine appointment and is to be obeyed, except in things opposed to the will of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the only Lord of the conscience. (Romans 13:1-7; Acts 4:19-20)
- We believe in the everlasting felicity of the saved and the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost. (Rev. 21:3-4; Rev. 21:8)
- We believe in the resurrection, personal, visibal, pre-millennial return of Christ, and related events. (Matt. 28:6-7; Acts 1:9-11; I Thess. 4:13-17; I Thess. 5:9; Phil. 3:20-21; Acts 2:29-30; Isa. 11:4-5; Rev. 20:6)
